Babysitting

Sunday I was able to babysit by best friends ADORABLE little girl Bentley! Alexis was in Florida (very jealous) for about a week with her family and they left the little ones home. I was in St. George for most of that time so Megan was babysitting the majority of the time. I figured since I was home I'd give Megan a break!
Bentley is so happy and loves to play! Max did very well with her, actually he had too much fun with her and wouldn't leave her alone. She was a great sport though and kept trying to pet him. Max just wanted to give kisses and Bent wasn't sure about that. Jason even enjoyed playing with her and keeping her entertained! She was a lot of fun!

St. George Dance Competition

Like I said in my last post, we went to St. George last weekend for a dance competition at Dixie High School. Our girls did every well! My advanced Jazz got 1st, my lyrical got 1st, Jackies Hip Hop got 2nd. My intermediate Jazz got 2nd, Jan's intermediate hip hop got 1st, beginning hip hop 2nd, Shayna's beginning jazz 1st, Sarah's intermediate lyrical 1st, Jan's beginning jazz 1st... And I'm not positive on the other classes. What is really neat about this competition besides being VERY WELL ORGANIZED and RAN WELL is that we got the "Performance Award" which is basically the overall studio of the day! All studio's that have 9 or more dances can qualify. They take all the studio's scores and find the average. The team with the highest average won! So even though we didn't sweep the competition with 1st's we were pretty consitant and won the overall! Very proud of the girls! My advanced Lyrical

Las Vegas!

We had a dance competition in St. George on Saturday (more info on a later post) so my mom, Shayna and I headed down to Vegas on Friday. It was a great day! I hadn't been to Vegas in 4 years, Shayna had never been and my mom hadn't been in about 30 years so it was interesting! We got a lot of shopping in and a little gambling. Vegas is not family friendly, at least on the Strip! I'm not amazed at what you see on the strip and the lack of clothing. It's just Vegas. I've talked to a lot of people about Vegas and ya know I'm just the type of person who expects that from Vegas and just enjoys the shopping, walking, gambling and having a good time. I knew what to expect and I enjoyed myself, others that I knew when to Vegas and complained a lot about it. Overall I think having good judgement about whether to take kids or not can make all the difference. I had a great time!

Happy Easter...

We had a great Easter weekend! Saturday night we colored eggs and hollowed/blew eggs with our friends Andy and Misha. It was a great time. I can't remember the last time I colored eggs. I know it was before I got married at least 5 or more years ago, so this brought back some fun memories. We enjoyed a quiet evening with these two and had a blast. After Andy and Misha left we gave Max one of the hollowed eggs to play with. He'd put it in his mouth and be careful not to crack it - he was great! Then he got playing and rolling it around and accidently pawed at it.... and CRUSH! He didn't quite know what to think. It was funny.

Easter Sunday we spent with the family. It was a good day. First we started for lunch at my parents. The whole family was there. Lunch was great. Then the Easter Bunny had hidden eggs/gifts for the two grandkids. They had fun finding the treasures. I just enjoyed the sun and watched, and played with Max. He and Quincy had a blast together, like they always do. At about 4:30 we headed out to Smithfield to Jason's parents. I left my camera in the Car and didn't get any pictures. We had a yummy dinner, talked and watched a movie. My mother-in-law made some awesome Mud Pie, it was great! I love hanging out with both our families. We are so blessed to have them all so close.

Testing the Boat

Friday we decided to take the boat to Hyrum dam and test it out, making sure it was working correctly and that nothing needed fixed. Surely enough it ran... took a minute to start after a long cold winter but she works! She overheated a bit (weird, considering how cold it was) so she might just need an oil change. We were freezing but it was warmer this year than when we went out last year. We were also told that there's already been wakeboarding on Hyrum this year, nope it wasn't us either! Dang, last year we were the first. This year we got beat! I'm not bummed about it but I'm sure our boys are.
