I Graduated!!

I am finally a COLLEGE GRADUATE! YAY! Graduation was on Saturday morning. I did the walk from the Feild House to the Spectrum, yes in a blizzard! It was actually quite fun and I had my good college friends with me so it made it worth it. I'm so relieved to be done and back to work full time!

Ready for Christmas?

We got our christmas tree and lights up on Friday! I got my gifts wrapped and under the tree. We are almost ready, just a new gifts left to buy. I love Christmas time, it's my favorite season. I love looking at the lights and enjoying all the Christmas decorations. I am so thankful for the beautiful holiday season and living this this wonderful valley. I had a great thanksgiving and enjoyed vistiting with family. My mom and I braved the crowds and went shopping on Friday, although we didn't go out too early just about 7:30 am. It was fun but BUSY!!

Here is our tree. I love my artificial tree. We bought this one last year at Home Depot and it's a beauty! I bought new decorations this year at Tai Pan Trading and love them! Jason sat and watched me decorate it this year, he did however help by telling me if it was even or where else ornaments needed to go.
Max is so big now! He's my adorable baby!
Jason talked me into a new snowmobile, yes you guessed it. He couldn't wait another year. He's so proud of this thing, that's all he's getting for Christmas!

Vetran's Day

Today is a special day. A day to honor those that we give our gratitude, thanks, and support to for serving our country. Showing much thanks for the many freedom's we hold today. Vetran's day is a very special day for me. It's the day before my birthday but also special because I can honor my grandfather who served in the armed forces. I appreciate all those who sacrafice so much so that we American's can have much in return. They are special people who deserve more than one day to show appreciation to them, but let's all take advantage of it and show your gratitude to those who are vetran's.

Sky View High School had a Vetran Assembly today. There were 3 speakers. One who served in World War II, another who's brother served in Korea and he served in Vietnam, the last who has recently served in Iraq. They were all moving speaches and brought tears to my eyes. It's such an honor to see so many Vetran's today in the assembly, all proud of their country.

I feel blessed to be able to attend this assembly and humbled by the freedom's I take for granted. I hope we all can thank a Vetran today and appreate the greatest country in the world, our country... the USA.

I'm thankful for...

What great timing I have! I started to read the book "Life's Greatest Lessons, 20 Things I Want My Kids to Know" by Hal Urban. It's a wonderful book and I'm only on chapter 9. Today I was reading chaper 7 - Being thankful is a habit - the best you'll ever have. It's awesome! It really opened my eyes to what being thankful is all about. Great timing with Thanksgiving right? In the book, he talks about how he has his students try to go a day with out complaining, no one ever does. But it helps them understand that they complain about pitty and meaningless things when they should be thankful for what they have. He then challenges his students and readers to make a list of what they are thankful for, but he splits it into 3 columns. The first is THINGS, second is PEOPLE and the third is OTHER. I stopped reading right there and started my list. The PEOPLE were very easy. The things were simple as well, but as Hal Urban predicted most people struggle with the 3rd column. I had a few things down like my education, relationships, my freedom, and my character. Then I continued to read. He gave more examples and urged to finish the list. Soon my 3rd column was the longest one. So my challenege for you fellow bloggers is to make a list of your own. It's quite easy to be thankful for people and things you have in your life but to open your eyes to the OTHER category may be hard for some and easy for others. Once I had a few ideas of what he was getting at as far as OTHER, my list was easy to complie. I will post my list later, that way it will give you time to ponder what is on your OTHER list without being influenced by my list.

There is one quote I absolutely love from this chapter. I'm hoping my cousin Jenny can help me create something cute for my house with this quote on it - (hint hint Jenny!)

More Halloween Fun

Our yearly halloween party at our house was quite fun! We carved pumpkins, played games, told jokes, build haunted houses out of gingerbread kits. It was hillarious!

Happy Halloween

Every year my work dresses up for Halloween and we go to lunch! It's a very fun tradition and makes it nice to get away for a little bit. My boss is very generous and we all appreciate the Halloween Luncheon. This year we went to Hamilton's.

Happy Birthday Dylan

My nephew, Dylan, turned 4! (Well he really turns 4 on Tuesday but we celebrated today). He got a transfomers cake, lots of transformer toys, clothes, and some trucks. He leaned against the cake and got frosting on his shirt but he sure did enjoy his cake! He's such a funny little guy. He hurried through his presents cause he wanted to get his cake topper (another transformer) off. I think he had a great time!

Homecoming Parade

Every year the dance group I teach for is in the parade. This year I was fortunate enough to get the chance to choreograph the routine (again I guess. We switch off years usually). They danced to "Don't Stop the Music". It was a little chilly at first but warmed right up. Then my mom, Jason and I went to breakfast, another tradition only usually it's the whole family.

USU Homecoming Dance

I've been attending USU for about 6 years now, yes sad I know, and I've never been to the Homecoming dance before. So this year I talked Jason into taking me! Shayna and her boyfriend Brady and Megan and her boyfriend Clarence came along as well! We went to dinner at Iron Gate Grill and then headed up to the dance. It's somewhat different from highschool dances but a lot the same. There were about 4 rooms playing different kinds of music and we got to dance a lot so that was fun. Then we headed over to the A to become true aggies! Finally! ha ha. All in all it was a fun evening.
