Relay for Life

I did a post on my Photography blog about Relay for Life. Please READ IT! www.photographybystaceymoss.blogspot.com

I've ALWAYS been what you can say a "Go Getter". I'm always getting involved in things and taking on more jobs/tasks than I should. Well Relay is no exception but I give it my all and my whole heart in hopes that someday soon we can make a difference in the fight against cancer. I have bouts of memories about my grandpa and his cancer. He was fairly lucky in his struggle, others aren't always so. I've seen cancer affect kids as young as 1 year old, which to me is a devastating struggle for them and their family for ever. I am doing everything I can to put in time and efforts to make the Cache County Relay for Life better, bigger, and getting more people involved. Relay is part of my heart. I've never met so many good people all fighting for the same cause. If you have any time, efforts, funds, ideas, or a second to pass along the word please help us out.

Thanks!
Stacey

Thankful

I am so very thankful for my family and my sisters. We were all together for thanksgiving this year and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Usually we have the entire family (grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.) at my mom's for thanksgiving but this year was a little different. It was smaller, cozy and somehow just what we needed - more time to ourselves to hang out before Steph packs up and moves. Her family leaves in December and I'm SO not looking forward to it. Her kids are so much fun and I will miss them and her so much. I never fully realized what she meant to me until I was told she isn't going to be here any more... and on the same note it makes me so much more thankful for having Shayna around. They are my life line, my best friends and the Joy in my life. Steph, Shayna and I get along so well and they would do anything for me and I for them in return. Their kids are like my own; I love them dearly. Steven and Collin have been my little buddies lately. I will miss Steven and his Farm stories oh so much. Jaycie bug has always been my favorite niece until Taylie came along and now it's a close tie. Dylan and his fun personality and red hair just brighten my day. I was born lucky into this family and am more grateful than ever for the friendships, relationships and meaning they have in my life. My parents are the knot that hold us all together but my sisters are there tied with me in my soul. I love you Steph and Shayna. You mean the world to me and so much more.

November Update

Well November has been a busy month and it's only the 9th! I had the opportunity to go to "Summit" which is a Relay for Life training convention for the committees around Utah and Wyoming. It was a lot of fun, very much an emotional experience, I learned a lot and I'm now pumped up for Relay 2013. I was so humbled to be with so many people that Relay and volunteer for this event across the state all dedicated to finding a cure and fighting back against cancer. I was blessed enough to be asked to speak on Saturday in our general session of about 300 people. I was very nervous but was told it went great. I hope some of you reading this are able to fight back for a cause you truely believe in. I fight for the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life because of my grandpa. His diagnosis with cancer got me started in 2009 but since then I have met so many wonderful people that have been touched by this horrible disease. I hope one day soon we will put an end to it. Because of that I dream big and Relay BIGGER. If you are interested in helping out in any way with Relay for life, volunteering, creating a team, donating, helping with entertainment, or whatever it might be please let me know.

Halloween Haunting....

ok not really haunting just some Halloween fun.

This year for Halloween we did a bonefire. It was a blast. We had donuts, hot chocolate and hot carmeled apple cider. We thought... oh this will be cool for the trick or treaters... well we didn't a single trick or treater. Man what a neighborhood, I was completely bummed out. We did, however, get a lot of friends and family so we were happy. I had a lot of fun, though I was almost the only adult in costume. I had dressed up for work and didn't have time to change and wash my face/hair so I was stuck with it. My nephew Collin hated my costume. He usually runs to give me hugs and this time wouldn't even come close. :( Overall we had a great turn out and had a blast. Watch out for next year... we plan on doing the same thing!

Halloween Lunch

At Hycomp, we go to lunch every year for Halloween... only if you are dressed up though. It's always an event I look forward to. It's just a fun day in the office to be laid back, a little crazy, enjoy the season and dress up as whatever you want... well with a few limitations to keeping it work appropriate. This year did not disappoint. We went to Pizza Pie Cafe.
The ladies of Hycomp.... Stacey, Anica, MacKenzie, Amnda, BrieAnna, Brooke, Tara and Holly
The 4 prize winners... Jeff got most Unique, Stacey got scarriest, Reid got best overall and Marty got funniest.

Playing with Collin

I think I have the most adorable nephews in the world. The other day Collin and Shayna came over. Andy and Kira were at Grandma and Grandpa's house for a while so Collin got to play with Kira's toys while Shayna and I watched Vampire Diaries. He was so cute. When Kira got home it was even cuter. She'd ask Collin to help her or sit down or hold her doll or come here, no matter what it was Collin did it. It was adorable.

Pumpking Carving and Halloween Cookies

A few weekends ago we got together to carve pumpkins and make Halloween sugar cookies. It was a blast. Maria was all artistic with the cookies and they turned out awesome. Kira helped out until she got her cookie and then she just wanted to eat it and watch movies. Megan, Maria and Andy carved the pumpkins... I think they look awesome.

Yard Work

Andy and I have still been working on the yard. It's coming along great, well I guess until the snow hit this week. This picture was taken last week so there's even more progress since then. I love it! It looks so nice. Will be super fun next year to plant trees/shrubs/flowers and have bon fires!

Jeep Ride

A few weekends ago Andy, Megan and I took a sunday jeep drive. We went through BlackSmith Fork over to Eden area and ate lunch at Shooting Star Salon. Then we headed back through Avon pass. It was a nice drive. Beautiful views.

USU Homecoming Parade

Saturday was the USU Homecoming Parade. It was long and hot but it was fun. Rhythm Connection changed our colors this year so we got to show off our shirts and warmups.

What a Weekend!

Andy, Kira and I had a blast this past weekend. We had quite the eventful Saturday and Sunday!
Kira and I were in the USU Homecoming Parade Saturday morning (watch for seperate post on that). After the parade we went to Angies and got some food then headed home to do some work on the house. We were able to borrow a tractor from a friend that made doing yard work so much easier! Now Andy's all jealous and thinking he needs a tractor!

First we moved Kira's play house to the corner of the yard. It was tricky to move and it didn't quite make it facing the direction we wanted but it will work. It started breaking so we eneded up leaving it where we got it, which is where we wanted it just not facing the direction we wanted. We'll make due though. We plan on re painting, fixing the railing, adding new carpet and drapes and fixing it up for Kira. She loves to play in it.

Kira also got to help on the tractor... notice her Barbie... Barbies and Tractors what better can it get?

We also finished digging out our pond. Andy and I have been slowly digging this for about 2 months. The ground is really rocky so it's been rough. The tractor dug it in no time and it's deeper than we would have gone by hand but it will be awesome!

After moving dirt and sand around the back yard on Saturday and most of the day sunday we were ready to start the patio and fire pit area. You can see in the back of the photo where a gravel parking space will be (for the boat and Snowmobile Trailer). The fire pit will be awesome! We got the fire pit from a neighbor by my parents and my dad gave us the cement circles. It's not done but it's getting there!
 Andy taking a break!

Here's our last project... The deck. It used to look way different. I wish I would have taken a before picture. It wasn't enclosed and the railing was really wobbly and unstable. Andy and I (well mostly Andy) built the half walls, stained the deck, added lights, I did the flowers, and we added the tiki torches. It looks so good at night. We borred a patio set to get us by for now but next summer we'll have a new set. It's a very relaxing area.
During all of Andy's hard work with the Tractor we decided to pull the sprinkler out and play. Kira and I had alot of fun... mostly Kira and me taking pictures. Then Andy joined in. Kira even dragged Max through the sprinkler. The first picture is classic. She kept closing her eyes when we ran through it!

Saturday night we headed to Crystal Hot Springs to relax. Andy, Kira, Stacey, Megan and a friend. It was very relaxing and a great night out.
