We are surviving!

Well nothing new has really happened in life lately other than staying busy with teaching and work and dance and trying to lesson plan! It's been crazy. Jason has been very patient with me and treats me well! When he isn't sick, he's a GREAT help around the house! Poor guy has just not felt good lately, I'm just hoping he doesn't give it to me!

Reading...

I'm not much of a reader, never have been. In fact, I despise reading. I've have never been a good or fast reader. I always hated English because we had to read not only text books but novels, short stories, etc. Reading is not something I enjoy doing, it's more of a task I force myself to do - only reading my text books of course.

Well I started student teaching is week at Sky View High School and they have a reading time for the entire school to read for about 20 min a day. I hope this helps students to enjoy reading more than I learned to hate it. I did however feel that I too should be reading while they did. I asked my sister if she had a good book I could try to read and I'm sure it would take me the entire semester to finish one book. She handed me Twilight by Stephanie Meyers. She smiled and said you'll fall in love with this book. I said yeah right, I hate reading and always will. I just needed something to get me by, and this could be it. It's a thick book, over 400 pages I think. Well that was Wednesday and today I finished the book. I'm in love with it, yes she was right. I'm somehow intrigued and suspenfully waiting to see what will happen. I can't wait to start the 2nd book, then the 3rd and 4th and maybe even see the movie that comes out in December - and yes I said I'm not a reader! So I challenge you, if you are like me and hate reading, give the Twilight book a chance - you never know it might just pull you it - it got me!

Girls Night Out

Last night I got all my best friends (minus Alexis) to go out to dinner and play games! We went to Iggies and then to my house. We played girl talk and killer bunnies (a great but confusing game I'd recomend to anyone!) and TWISTER! It was hilarious! I love these girls.

Weekend in Bear Lake...

Every year since I can remember we've been going to bear lake as a family! We used to go with my Aunt, Uncle and Cousins which was always a blast, but since both families have expanded quite a bit we've kinda diminished that tradition and created a tradition of our own, both families still go but we usually go seperate weekends. We stay at Ideal Beach resort, which is right on the beach! This year we took our boat and had a blast! On Sunday my parents rented a 6 person water winnie and we had the time of our lives! Jason and I, Steph and Ray and Shayna and her boyfriend Brady all rode it! From tipping the enitre tube over to getting bucked off the back end to landing on each other in the water it was all fun! It was also fun to watch Jaycie scream in the boat (she's terrified of the boat, but we made her ride in it anyways - we needed a driver and a flagger and the kids just had to tag along). We played at the beach for two days and only went to the pool twice to soak in the hot tub and layout. Games, food, and fun - what a weekend! We were lucky to have my parents let some of our friends join us on saturday for some fun. We buried Klay in the sand, played 500 in the water, and the guys built a jump and played with the RC car. I am so lucky to have my family all get along so well and be able to spend one weekend together before school starts. I love this tradition and hope it continues for many years to come!

Little Update...

Well I haven't had my camera with me lately so I don't have many pictures to post. Last weekend we went down to Ogden with our friends for Klay's birthday. We went to the Nickle Arcade and had a blast! 6 grown ups (well we're all in our 20's) playing arcade games for hours! It was so fun. Then we went to my favorite place... Applebee's, for dinner. Then we went to check out the surf pool and indoor sky diving in Odgen. It was pretty cool. I can't wait to try out the surf pool... it looks more like wake skating than surfing to me but I still want to try it. If you don't know what wake skating is, it's basically wakeboarding with no bindings. So your feet are really unstable like a surfboard. Skateboarding on water i guess. It's fun but hard. So here are a few pictures from the birthday outting.

Battling on the Tube....
What's this you say? Well ever since we got two tubes we've started what we call Battle Wars. We play with one person on each tube and you try to get the other person off their tube, even if that means you going off with them. First one to 3 points wins. Typically this entails pulling, pushing, jumping and sometimes just randomly falling off the tube. I've been lucky enough to win Klay, Jason, Julie and Misha so far, as well as loose to all them too. It's pretty fun and doesn't look as mean as this picture dipicks. I realized I haven't taken any battling pictures but misha had this really good one of her pulling me off the tube. Yes we are crazy but it's actually really a fun challenge. Even the girls can beat the guys!

Fun at Bear Lake...

With no boat! Today Jason and I went to Bear Lake with my sister, her two kids and my mom. We debated on taking the boat, but since my neice Jaycie is afraid and WILL NOT get in the boat that ment it would kinda be pointless to bring it. But man, we had fun with out it! I forget what it's like playing in the water, building sand castles and laying out. With the boat we don't do that stuff all too often. My mom and sister had bought some cheap air mattresses from Walmart and they were a hit! We tried sinking each other and got pulled out really deep... what a blast! In August my family is going to Bear Lake for 4 days for our anual family outting before school starts and I can't wait to go and have more fun with the boat and on the shore!... Maybe I'll wear a little more sunscreen next time since I fried the back of my legs! OUCH!
