My Valentine

I'm a pretty lucky girl if I can say so. I have this great guy who makes me really happy and I have more fun with him then I've ever had. He's honest to god, my best friend. We don't often talk about our relationship, with ANYONE, even ourselves for the most part. If your're our friends and family your most likely nodding your head about right now thinking "Yeah I keep asking and they always say they don't know"... People are always asking for the inside scoop and there just ins't one. We have been dating for nearly 4 years, off and on of course. About 2 years ago Andy asked me to move in with him, that was the day before we left to go to Disney Land. And technically by the book he didn't ask me to move in, he cleared out half his closet and said I guess it'll be easier for you if you have room to put your clothes. So that sort of started our official relationship, however even back then we didn't title it. I don't think we even really title it now, and we own a house together. We are just like that, and it's both of us. After getting divorced we just changed and we are so similar in some things that we just know what we want and we don't need to label it. So today, I'm thankful I get to call him my valentine and that we seriously understand each other on the level of life that we do. We want so many of the same things it makes our relationship so much easier and effortless. I'm happy to spend my Valentine's day with this amazing guy.

I took a fun look back over the years at some of our awesome adventures - because really, this blog is called Stacey's Adventures, right?

This first photo is actually from when we were friends. No dating involved. He was a great guy, and still is.

The rest of these photos are in no particular order, mainly because I didn't want to sort them. :)

Happy Valentines Day, Babe.

What a Surprise!

Today I got a very pleasant surprise at work. One of the guys out back brought in this box that said "ProFlowers" on it. He's like open it! I was seriously thinking he's got the wrong girl. Then I'm thinking, maybe Andy? But he'd just call a local florist and have them delivered. So who is this mysterious person sending me flowers? Well I thought they were flowers but I hadn't yet opened the box.. As I'm opening the box, I see a phone number on the address label that I recognized but not one I knew (I'm bad with numbers, thank goodness for cell phones). I look up the phone number and it's my brother-in-law. :)

So I got a dozen roses and a card  - "Happy Valentine's Day - Your Favorite Brother-In-Law"

Thanks Ray. You made my day.

We go way back...

Yesterday I went to lunch with two girls I've known forever.... Laura and Trissy. Let's talk about them.

Laura was my neighbor ever since we moved to River Heights when I was like 4 years old. She's been there for as long as I can remember. We played barbies, climbed trees, I tried to teach her dance routines, we did everything together... which often included leaving our younger sisters out. We even got in trouble for not letting Shayna and Christy play with us at times. We loved playing night games with the neighborhood boys. We were full of life and adventure.

Trissy moved into the area in 3rd grade, I think. We were all in class together and we joined the girl scouts troop together where Trissy mom was our leader. We had fun, all the time. We even competed in dance growing up.

As we got older and started to grow up we all went our own ways. Trissy moved and went to Logan High School, while Laura and I went to Mountain Crest. Laura and I didn't hang out much in high school but we've always been friends. We all went our own way but every now and again we find our way back and catch up on life. That's what lunch was like yesterday. I love getting together with these girls and learning what's new in their lives.

Trissy has been married for almost 10 years, in March. She has 5 kids (one girl, four boys)
Laura has been married for nearly 5-6 years. She has 4 kids, all boys, two of which are twins.
I didn't get a photo of us this week but next time I will. Here are some fun past memories of these girls:

Dancing with the Relay Stars 2014

The event this year was AWESOME! We had 8 amazing stars and some seriously talented choreographers, I'm in awe at their work. Together with the addmission money for the night we raised over $6500 for Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society at this years Kick off Event. WOW. I've been in charge of this event for 3 years now and that's the best we've done yet (close to the first year though). I love this event because it brings Relay for Life together with the dancing community. I've been in dancing since I was three years old so I love it. This year they conned me into dancing. At first I was stoked because I was going to choreograph, well things changed and I had enough choreographers for everyone if I didn't dance - WHICH I WAS FINE WITH. I had previously connected a lady from salt lake from a hip hop crew/class and asked if she knew any male choreographers that would be interested in helping out with our event. Well Quang called me the night of our meeting. Crap, I really was doing this. Well I was sick for a while and then out of town so meeting together with Quang took some time. I drove down to Syracuse Dance for practice a week before the event and then again on Sunday. Wow - yup two practices. We meet for a little bit the night of event to review and change a few things but I was still so busying helping set up that we didn't get much time. Though I was off count and messed up a time or two I think we killed it, and even more we had fun. We got 10, 10, 9 as our score and raised $568. We didn't win but in my book we did.

Andy's Big 3-0 Birthday.... what a Surprise

Last Friday was a stressful day for me. I'd been planning a surprise party for Andy for nearly a month and Friday was the day. Andy and I have been inseparable lately. We drive to work together, take lunch together, hang out together, watch movies together.... we no nearly everything together. When are we not together lately? If he's out of town or I'm on a photo shoot. Lately he's been home so I had a hard time planning this birthday party. Fortunately, his best friend Klay and my sister Shayna were a HUGE help. Shayna went grocery shopping for me and Klay cooked on the grill. Friday came and that morning at work Andy said he wasn't feeling good and wanted to know if I'd take him home - we CRAP. That would ruin everything. Luckily he got feeling better and stuck it out. For lunch he tossed me the keys and said "Your driving". Usually I say "What?" no way, but that day was perfect timing. That meant I'd have the keys for the drive home. While we were at lunch my sister stopped by my work to pick up my credit card and the cake. 5 o'clock rolled around and Andy was ready to leave. I tried to work late to prolong the drive home but we left Hycomp at 5:30. Since I was driving and I knew we needed to kill some time I told Andy I felt like buying some lottery tickets so we headed to La Tienda, then to Kohls to buy him some shoes, then to Macey's for groceries, then we had to stop and wash my jeep and then again stopping at Ridley's in Hyrum on the way home because my sister said hardly anyone was there yet. I WAS FREAKING OUT. We were on our way home and Andy hadn't said one word about why we were taking so long to get home so I assumed he had figured it out. We pulled into the house with no cars there except one truck. Andy assumed it was Megan and Adam's since I told him they were coming over. I let Andy head into the house first and he opens the kitchen door and max was there. Andy's like "Well hello Max". He then hits the lights and ... "Surprise!!" It was a great turn out! I was so excited to see so many people there. My family, Andy's family, friends and co-workers. It was a great night. I had asked my sister to help decorate with an Automotive/Jeeping theme and Wright Designs did the cake. Thanks again everyone and Happy Big 3-0 Andy.
