Relay for Life 2013- Race for a Cure

What a weekend it has been. Friday and Saturday I spend nearly all day at Relay for Life. It was a fun filled 24 hour event and though I loved every minute of it, I'm seriously glad it's over for another year. :)

Being the Team Development Chair has been a lot of fun and I've met more wonderful people than I can count. I'm truly humbled by all the people that donate and dedicate so much time to this great cause and fighting the battle of cancer.

My day started early Friday morning and ended late Saturday night. The event was wonderful and I was so happy to spend two days with my family and close friends. Andy and Kira even joined me for Friday and all of Saturday. Kira was so excited to camp over and she slept right through the Mountain Crest Drum Line at 6:30 in the morning. Wow, I couldn't even do that.

Team Fish Fight Raised $16,098.02 and managed to claim the top fundraising team of the event. We had 8 Grand Club Members (people who raise $1000 or more). We are an awesome team!

As a Relay Event we raised $96,485.01 so far and we are hoping to top $100,000 by the end of August!

Since pictures say 1000 words here's my Relay Story.

And finally my many Shirts of Relay! Grand Club, Hycomp, Committee, Team Captain, and Fish Fight.

BBQ at my Parents!

My sister and her kids are in town from Texas so its BBQ season at my mom's house. We had a get together on sunday and let the kids play. The adults even played badmitton, it was actually a great time. Shayna and I also worked on our Box Cars for Relay. I actually had fun and think mine turned out pretty snazzy.. with the help from my dad and Andy (Jaycie too).

I love this little girl!

Hot Tub Party!

We love s'mores!

Boating and Best Friend!

Andy, Megan, Kami, Ray, Abby and I went boating on Saturday. It was busy but actually pretty fun. We bought a new tube that was super fun but dangerous if Andy is driving. We pretty much enjoy any time on the lake though, regardless of who's driving it can always be an adventure.

I just love this girl.

Firework fun!

Andy and I stayed home and BBQ'd on the 3rd when the Logan Fireworks were so we didn't have to deal with the craziness of busy roads and so many people but we decided to head out to Hyrum to enjoy the fireworks with our friends on the 4th. The fireworks were, well interesting... They had quite a few that went off on or very near to the ground and the finale was well -weak, in comparison to past years. But hey we still had fun. Megan, Julie and I have been friends for years so it was good to get everyone together. Klay and Andy are high school friends so it's always a hoot getting them together!

And well Kira is the center of attention! I bought some fun glow sticks and glow in the dark bubbles and that kept her entertained all night. She even watched the fireworks and had fun. Last year she was scared and hid under Andy the entire time so it was fun to see the change in personality as she's getting older.

4th of July Parade!

More fun with Kira and Collin! We went out to the Hyrum 4th of July Parade and had a blast. We sat with some of Shayna and Brady's friends and got to enjoy the shade, it was super nice. The kids had so much fun getting candy and playing around. We went to the Hyrum Square and ate lunch and then headed home to take a nap!

Playing at the Park

About a week ago we decided to have a picnic at the park and play. It was super fun, we need to do this more often. Kira and Collin have so much fun together and I love hanging out with my sister and Andy.
