Blog 10 - Tagged!

My aunt finally does a blog post after 6 months.. (he he get going Aunt Beth!!) and she tags me.

So the deal is this, I just have to write 10 honest things about myself. Honest and somewhat surprising or entertaining. After my 10, I get to tag people. So here goes.....

1. I love my dog. Max is my best friend. He's always SOO excited to see me when I get home. He makes me laugh and smile everyday. He is so mischievous and such a trouble maker but I sure do love him! He can make a bad day better just by being himself. He's gotten so big since I first got him but I love him just the same.

2. I love my parents. They are both special people to me that I can't even being to explain how much I love and appreciate them for being the way they are. I currently live with them again and it's not as bad as I would have expected. My mom is so easy to talk to and we love our lunch dates. My dad is Mr. Fix it and his motto is "there's nothing I can't fix". He has this HILARIOUS broken leg walk that he does. He makes me laugh!

3. My sisters are AMAZING! They mean so much to me. I'm so glad they are great friends of mine. I could go on for days about them but I'll leave it short.

4. I love Snowboarding! I'm not that great but I sure enjoy hitting the mountain with the guys at work.

5. I collect shot glasses. I started this back oh prob 13 years ago or more. I have over 150 from so many places I can't even name them all. I don't have one from every state in the US yet but I do have many countries and quite a few from different states. I love this collection. I had a friend of mine make this shot glass self. It houses my most precious collection. Ok one of them.

6. Scrapbooking. I'm addicted. Easy as that.

7. I'm a Utah State Graduate with a Bachelors of Science degree which I don't even use at my job. I'm a true aggie and proud of it!

8. I love my job! I do document control at Hycomp. It's being getting more and more busy but I love it. Keeps me on my toes and I am continually learning something new. This is what we build...

9. Friends are so important to me.

10. I am me. Plain and simple. I make mistakes but I learn from them. I've learned life is hard. It's never what I expect it to be. The last 6 months have prob been the hardest in my life. I've lived, learned and loved but never with this much pain. I have learned that life can go on. That I will survive. That those that really love and care about me are there for me no matter what's going on in life. That I will cherish every memory I have, forever. For those memories are what shaped my life and the way I am today.

Ok Tags.. Since 5 of the people I would have tagged are already tagged by my aunt I hope these people see that they are tagged...

Trissy Gwilliam, Stephanie Hendrickson, Tara Callaway, Jennifer Williams, Mackenzie Loose, Allison Damraur, Kodi Elison, and Mandy Durham

Weekend Recap

This weekend was a busy one. Friday night I scrapbooked from 5-7 by my self and then from 7 to 10:30 with my two sisters. It was great! We are going to try to scrapbook more often. I'm also in the process of making some layouts for our stamp n scrap nights we will be having coming up soon. Here's a sneak peak at one of the layouts. If any of you are interested it's $5 a layout (for a two page layout) or $20 for 5 (you get one free). You come put it together with a sample so you can really customize it to your pictures or copy it exactly like the sample layout. I'm excited! My sisters talked me into this because they can have a hard time creating a layout idea and they are ALWAY looking through my scrapbook and coping pages that I did.

Then I played with max for a while. Max got these AWESOME squeaky tennis balls from Jason's parents for Christmas and he JUST LOVES THEM!

Saturday I went to lunch with the girls... mom, steph, shayna, grandma, jaycie, (ok and Dylan and Steven too). We went to Angies. Great lunch! Right when we sat down Jaycie spilt her water and it went ALL down the front of me and into my purse. She felt bad. It was kinda funny but I looked like I'd pee'd my pants! Then I took max for a walk. And fell asleep around 5 till after 9. Long and much needed nap.

Sunday was good too! My new nephew got blessed and my sister had a brunch at her house after. He's getting soo big! He's a handsome little man. Sunday afternoon I took another nap :)! Then games and watched The Da Vinci Code. I liked the movie, however after reading the book the book is MUCH better and I was able to pick out alot of stuff that they left out or did differently.

It was quite the weekend. Up Next... Wendover with by brother-in-law... We'll see if it actually happens!

A little bit of an update...

I finally got max groomed! Boy was he in need of a trim! He's so skinny with no hair and he shivers ALL the time now. Makes me feel bad that I had them cut all his fur off but he definalty needed it!

Megan's birthday was last week. We went bowling and had cake at her house.

I finally had my eyes checked and yup i need glasses. I went shopping for some this last weekend and found a few i really liked... WOW, EXPENSIVE! So till I can afford some nice glasses I bought contacts (yeah they don't last as long but short term they were cheaper and I got colored... GREEN!) I look like crap in this picture because it's right after dance but my eyes are green not blue anymore!

SOLD!

Our house is officially sold and we have to be moved out by Sunday night (hopefully we're out by tomorrow night so the buyers can have sunday to move in).

We closed yesterday and signed papers. No more mortgage! I'm happy but also extreemly sad at the same time. I love my house. I'm really really going to miss it. I have almost all of my stuff moved out and Jason has been moving a lot of his as well. Tomorrow will be the finishing hauls and then cleaning it. Oh how this house means so much to me. From all the memories I'll take with me and all the dreams I had to do with it. My beautiful bleeding heart in the front yard I'll truley miss. The hard work Jason, My dad and I put into laying tile. My dad's amazing handy craft work on pouring cemement for the hot tub. All the repairs we just did that we wont get to enjoy. Oh tomorrow will be a happy day and very sad at the same time.

Check out the virtual tour before they delete it! http://www.justsnooping.com/tours/2578019

A huge thank-you to our relator Dennis Parry of Coldwell Banker, Gold Key Realty. I've known Dennis for a really long time. His family lived across the street from us in River Heights while I was growing up. I played over at their house ALL the time with Ally. With his help we sold the house in just 5 DAYS! Can you believe it? With the market today that was amazing! We didn't make money, we actually had to pay a little cash at closing but with the quick sell and not having to pay the mortgage for longer it was definalty worth it! I know we would have made money if we hadn't used a relator but not having to show the house, deal with paperwork, trying to market it and what not I loved having a relator. The process was SO easy! Dennis was great to work with and I'd recommend him and Debby to anyone!

Good-bye house, I'll Miss you!

My cute max

Max totally needs a hair cut. And yes he has an appointment next week. But aside from that... Jason and I had bought him a bed a while ago and I gave it to him for Christmas. He just looks at it like what is that? It's a good place to throw all his toys. Well Sunday I was on my computer printing pictures and working on scanning some stuff when I look over and this is what I see...

He's so cute. I did wake him up by taking pictures but to my surprise he stayed laying there for quite a while. Maybe he'll start using it after all. Otherwise it will remain as a toy box.

Highschool Friends

About a week ago my friends Mary, Megan and I (and some other friends of Mary's) got together for a girls night of poker. It was a lot of fun. Miss these two. We need to hang out more.

Wasatch Back - Ragnar Relay

I think I'm officially crazy. Last year my work did a relay team for the Ragnar Relay that goes from Logan to Park City. This year my boss is again putting a team together and yes I signed up. Ouch. The relay is a 187.9 mile race that is ran by a team. We will have 12 runners, who each run 3 legs of the course. The total miles each person runs ranges from 12.4 miles to 18.4 miles. The legs are broken up into various distances and terrain. I don't know yet which runner I am but I'm crossing my fingers I'm not runner 11 who has to run 3.8 miles on Very Hard terrian, 7.3 miles on Hard, and 7.3 on Very Hard. I also prefer not to be runner 6 who also has a tough one of 6.9 Very Hard, 8.1 Very Hard and 3.1 Easy.
The race is 24 hours straight. The team of 12 runners is split into two vans. Van #1 runs their legs and then rests while van #2 runs and they switch off like that until the race is complete. Being cramed in the van with 6 other people will be a delight I'm sure. Plus the little to no sleep? Ugh.
Training started this week and so far I'm doing ok. If you know me you know I'm NOT a RUNNER. I've NEVER been a runner. So this is a great personal challenge for me. I'm excited to do it, although I heard many grueling stories last year. I just want to finish my 3 legs and not have to have someone else step in for me. Even if that means I have to walk part of it. At least I can say I did it. I know it will be a great experience and fun time with my co-workers and friends/family of them.

Another Good Book

I got talked into reading the Da Vinci Code by many people, and surprisingly I loved it! I'm not typically a reader so when I started this I thought, Oh man - I'll prob never finish. But I have only about 20 pages left I'll finish tonight and then I'm staring Angels and Demons. And after that The Lost Symbol. I guess I am a reader. When you don't watch TV and don't do much but sit home, reading sure helps fill the time! And max loves to cuddle while I read - it's so special! :)

PS: That's my 3rd book since the beginning of January, and they weren't short books either. Twilight, The Host and this book The Da Vinci code!

I've been wanting to play in the snow and make a snowman for a while now. With the new snow this weekend it was perfect packing snow. So while my two sisters were scrapbooking I was out making a snowman. It was alot of fun! Max was frozen with snow by the time we were done!

This year there are a few of us at work that absolutly live for snowboarding (Matt, Tim and I for sure). We have gone twice so far. They went a few times with out me. I also went snowmobiling with Andy, Chris and Matt from work. I need to get some more riding in, especially now that we have some great snow! Aren't winter sports so fun?

Love my Grandparents

My grandparents are wonderful people! They mean so much to me. Here's a photo from a while ago...
And here's a photo I took on Sunday. My grandpa is recovering from pneumonia. He was hospitalized in November. I look up to my grandma so much for taking care of him. I'm sure it takes a toll on her. She's so strong and would do anything for him even when he's out of it and can be mean. I'm sure it's hard on Grandpa as well. Being sick and brittle is no fun. They are still so cute though.
This is Tippy. One of their dogs.
This is Dolly, their other dog.

And here's their cute family.

Loved this book!

Once again Stephenie Meyer has my full attention! I started reading Twilight again last week (this is round 5). I finished the first book and got talked into reading something different for a change. My friends think I read Twilight too much! So I started the Host on Sunday. I finished it last night. It made me cry. I borrowed the book from Julie but I'm dead set on buying it because i LOVED it! Meyer is an amazing auther and I just love how her books read. Can't wait for the movie to come out!
PS - if you want to know my new blog URL make sure to email me or post a comment. I'm changing it in Feb!

Christmas and New Years

So I was really out of it this year and didn't take pictures this holiday season. :( However I stole a few pictures from my sister and Jason's sister.

New Years Day at My mom's
Max fell sleep playing with his new toy at Jason's Parents on Christmas eve. He's super cute!

Overall I guess my holidays were ok. Nothing spectacular but it was good to me. We spent alot of time working on our house, it goes up for sale today. Not too excited about selling our house that holds many many memories and was my pride and joy for the past 5 1/2 years but the time has come to move on. We did alot of fixing. I caulked the kitchen and bathroom (never even attempted before in my life and i have to say even my dad approved which is amazing cause he's a fix it perfectionist), we painted both the kitchen and bathroom (after fixing some dents and holes in the walls, which required mudding and sanding which I again did). Hung 2 sets of closet doors, cleaned the carpets (ok i didn't but i paid to have it done), moved all my stuff out of the house and decluttered it, rearragned to make it look more presentable, cleaned the blinds, rehung the blinds, cleaned windows, etc. It looks great and is finally ready for the sign in our yard. Among all the working on the house and moving I did manage to host a dance christmas party at the house (Sleepover), the work party, attend our santa party, christmas eve at Jason's parents, christmas at my parents, and new years day at my parents as well. I'm sure glad the holidays are over. A new year and I'm ready for a new start.
